Designer Handbags VS “Designer Inspired” Handbags

I love handbags. I think every female is guilty of this love. I own the Chanel Classic Flap, the Chloe Faye Bag, the iconic Celine Medium Luggage, and the Chanel Boy Bag. Just kidding! I don’t own any of those. But I must say each of those bags are drool worthy. I personally do love the Chanel Classic Flap in caviar leather and silver hardware. A great classic piece for anyone’s wardrobe. Are these bags beautiful? Hell ya! Are they good quality, for that price duhh! However can we all spend $5,000 on a purse? Not really and some who can just don’t want to. It’s all a matter of what we rather spend our hard earned cash on. So why not look into the “designer inspired” bag for much much less.

I have to say the “Designer Inspired” bags have become more common in stores such as “Topshop“, “Forever21” “Zara” and H&M“. And with online shopping it is even easier to purchase a great “designer inspired” bag. I think they are great if you just like the style for now and don’t see the reason to invest thousand’s of dollars in one bag.  For a fraction of the price you can still have the “look” the authentic bags offer.

There are also the dare I say “knock offs”. I know a lot of people are against “knock offs” and almost everyone has an opinion on the subject. However I don’t care if someone buys a knock off. It is their money and their pergogative. And if designers want to charge items for thousands of dollars for a bag it’s simply the risk they need to take in the fashion crazy world we live in.

I have a “designer inspired” Celine purse from BAGINC.COM and I LOVE it! It’s made with leather and it’s greatquality for the price. And I know if it gets scratched I won’t be too stressed about it. That pieace of mind is worth the savings for me. Also, I purchased a Burberry handbag which I LOOOOVVEEE  and it’s also well made however I do get paranoid the leather or the hardware will get scrathced since I paid big bucks for that baby! Although I do love the bag and don’t have any regrets over how much I spent  it can be a mental  pain in the ass. Especially if you’re like me who likes to keep her things in mint condition. It reminds me when I got my brand new car and I was a wreck any scratch or bump was on it.

I guess it’s all up to what the customer wants. If we want to invest in a designer bag, why not! If we want to buy a “designer inspired” bag, why not! It’s our money and I’ll buy what I want too! PHEW!

What do you think about designer handbags and “designer inspired” handbags?

Quick fixes for the busy girl and always look fab!

I have always been a busy bee and running from one job to the next and from one client to the second. If you’re a person like me, you literally DO NOT have time to even run a comb through your hair sometimes. (Sad but true)  Here are a few tips that I have learned to always look and feel polished on days when I have 3 hours of sleep, and I rather save my time to go get my latte than style my hair.

  1. Dry Shampoo! This is literally one of the most amazing inventions ever created. My hair is very fine and thin and overly processed so I only wash my hair every three to four days. What saves me to always have my hair look and feel fresh is dry shampoo. I love the brand Oribe and Klorane.

2. Red lipstick.  A little color is the best little “POP” to freshen your look. Nights when I literally sleep three hours and feel and look so tired I just put on some red lipstick and I’m ready to go. I love MAC‘s “Russian Red” and NARS ” in “Cruella”.

3. Messy bun.  A quick trendy look. It always looks clean and stylish and looks great for the office or anywhere you go. The messy bun is literally my hair “go-to” when I am on the run and have a million things to do. It keeps my hair out of my way and I don’t need to keep running a brush through it like I do when its down.  The messy bun is the best hair do when you are on the run and have a go-go day.

3. Insta-dry nail polish.  Of course you have the option to not color your nails but its pretty boring, and being girly I like to have a little color on my nails. The best product out there which I use ALL the time is “Insta-dri” nail polish. It dries in literally 2 min. I leave it in my purse to re-apply if it chips and it’s only $3.00 at WalMart. When I don’t have time to go get a manicure and wait 30 min for my nails to dry at home because I have laundry to do. This is the best “go-to” nail polish on the market for a $3.00 steal.

4. White eyeliner.  This is great to open your eyes and make your eyes look fresh even with little sleep. My favorite brand is Paula Dorf in “baby eyes”. Since I have small eyes this also helps my eyes look larger and fresh and clean.

These are my favorite go-to’s when I’m on the go and have little time to polish myself. Hope these tricks help you save time and look fab with or without sleep and coffee. 🙂

Pros and Cons when ordering from China

Majority of people (including myself) always prefer to save a buck or two, especially when it comes to personal shopping. We are always looking for the best deal and online shopping has given us various options and price comparisons with just a click of a button. One poplar option is buying items from or They have awesome deals with purses for $7.00 or amazing dresses for $25.00. But… the question is… Do we get what we pay for? Is it too good to be true? Or.. is it a bargain?

First let’s start with the good.

  1. Prices. Prices on purchases from China are much much muuuuch cheaper! I have purchased a wool jacket for $30.00. You can always find great items which are affordable for much less than what you would pay regular retail.
  2. Trends. Sometimes you are looking for that special top in that specific color or style. Most likely with 1000s of online stores to purchase from, you will find what you are looking for.
  3. Knockoffs. Oops! Did I say that… I mean…… yaaa I mean knockoffs. Let’s face it, not all of us can afford an authentic Celine purse, or Gucci wallet. Online stores give us that perfect immitation of the iconic Burberry pattern for only $10 if that is what we are looking to add into our wardrobe, or a Louis Vuitton purse for $50. Not everyone is looking for authenticity or quality.

So with the good there is always the bad. And here it is..

1. Visibility. Buying online you literally have no idea what you are purchasing and putting your trust in a photo and a description. You don’t have the opportunity to try it on, or feel the material. A garment may not come out in the color or size as you intended. You are almost shopping in the dark and hoping for the best.

2. Sizes. I consider myself a petite person and purchasing clothes from China may work in my advantage. However I find myself still opting into a larger size. Most sizes from these sites are much smaller and when you wait three weeks to receive your order and it doesn’t fit it can be a blow.

3. Shipping and handling. I literally have had to wait for almost a month to receive my order. So if you need an outfit for an event coming up soon, make sure you give yourself enough time because it will take time until you receive your order. And depending on the supplier I sometimes have had to pay for shipping. Sometimes a $10 shirt can come out to  be $100 so be careful.

4. Quality. To be completely honest the quality of the garments are not the best. You literally get K-Mart quality. If you are looking for intricate stitching and good quality material, shopping online is not your best route.

  1. Always be prepared to buy a size or two larger. Most clothes from these sites are much smaller than what you would find at the GAP.
  2. Always check return policies. Not all sellers allow refunds and the last thing you want is to be stuck with something you don’t want.
  3. Low expectations. Don’t expect to buy a Prada bag with Prada quality. It’s more of a Prada bag for a Walmart price and quality.
  4. Research! Always do research and price comparisons on other sites and other suppliers. And always read reviews. They give a great perspective on what you should expect from your purchase.

What’s your experience with shopping on these sites?
